OFFICIAL RULES
The format is 2-man four ball, stroke play at 50% handicaps (each player plays his/her own ball; the best score of the two will be counted as the team’s one score on each hole). Handicaps .5 or higher will be rounded up unless it is a (+) handicap which will be rounded down in accordance with USGA rules.
Participants can only play in one qualifying event.
Each event will be played under the USGA rules of golf with two footnotes: 1) local rules apply and will be defined before competition; 2) Commissioner Riggs has the final say on everything.
EVENT TERMS AND CONDITIONS
General Event Overview: The Barstool Classic™ (“Barstool Classic”) is a series of golf events culminating in a year-end championship. Each one-day golf event is comprised of two person teams playing Four-Ball. The events are open to all golfers 21 years or older. The course date and start time are subject to change.
Eligibility and Rules of Golf: The Barstool Classic is open to all golfers 21 years or older. An official USGA-sanctioned handicap is required to participate, and you must provide your GHIN Number upon request. Employees of Barstool Sports and persons working in any capacity at the local events are ineligible for prizes. Participants assume personal responsibility for ensuring that their amateur status under PGA/USGA rules is not adversely affected by participation in these events. Play is governed by the current USGA Rules of Golf, local rules for each course, and any Barstool Classic rules. Local rules and Barstool Classic rules will be provided by each course and Barstool Sports and will be available on-site upon requests. Questions with respect to the rules of golf, local rules and Barstool Classic rules, and scoring will be settled by a Barstool Sports representative presiding over the event, whose decision will be final.
Entries/Registration Fees: Space for each local event is limited, and entries will be accepted on a “first come-first served” basis. Registration fees are non-refundable, non-transferable, and all sales are final. Your registration is a license to attend a specific event you have purchased the ticket for, and such license can be revoked at any time if any of these Terms & Conditions or any host golf course code of conduct are violated by Participant.
Participant Obligations and Acknowledgements:
Participant is required to provide true, accurate, complete, and current information about themselves and their USGA handicap and information related thereto.
Participant acknowledges that Barstool Sports has the right to suspend, refuse access to, or refuse to pay any potential prize money if it is determined that Participant has provided inaccurate, untruthful, or misleading information about themselves or their USGA handicap, or has violated these Terms and Conditions in any manner whatsoever.
Cash prizes are void where prohibited.
Each Participant winner shall be solely responsible for reporting and paying any and all applicable taxes relating to the prize.
Any Participant winning over $600 in prize winnings will receive an IRS form 1099 at the end of the calendar year and a copy of such form will be filed with the IRS.
Equipment: Participant shall be responsible for providing their own equipment, and Barstool Sports cannot make any representation or guarantee that any course will provide equipment available for rent.
Event Cancellation & Inclement Weather Policy: Barstool Sports will make best efforts to play the event on the scheduled date. If the host course, or Barstool, in its sole discretion, needs to cancel play due to inclement weather, the event may be canceled or rescheduled for a rain date.
Barstool Sports shall not be responsible for any incidental costs (travel, lodging) occurring as a result of inclement weather.
PUBLICITY RELEASE: Except where prohibited, an entrant’s participation in the Barstool Classic constitutes consent to the worldwide, royalty-free use of his/her name, photo, and/or likeness, biographical information, entry, and statements attributed to him/her by Barstool Sports for promotional purposes, including without limitation, inclusion on the Barstool Classic website, or other Barstool Sports websites or apps, in its e-mail communications and any other media chosen by Barstool Sports without compensation.
PRIVACY AND PERSONAL INFORMATION: Barstool Sports may collect personal data about participants online and use such data in accordance with Barstool’s privacy policy at https://www.barstoolsports.com/privacy-policy (“Privacy Policy”) and as set forth in these Terms and Conditions. Please review these Terms and Conditions and the Privacy Policy carefully. By participating in the Barstool Classic, participants hereby agree to such collection and use of their personal information by Barstool, either collectively or individually, and acknowledge that they have read and accepted these Terms and Conditions and the Privacy Policy.
DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES; LIMITATION OF LIABILITY:
(A) PARTICIPANT AGREES THAT THEIR REGISTRATION, ATTENDANCE, AND PARTICIPATION IS AT PARTICIPANT’S SOLE RISK. NEITHER BARSTOOL SPORTS, ITS AFFILIATES OR PARENT COMPANIES NOR ANY OF THEIR RESPECTIVE EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, SPONSORS, THIRD PARTY CONTENT PROVIDERS OR LICENSORS MAKE ANY WARRANTIES OR REPRESENTATIONS WHATSOEVER, OR AS TO THE ACCURACY OR RELIABILITY OF ANY CONTENT, INFORMATION, SERVICE, OR MERCHANDISE PROVIDED THROUGH THE BARSTOOL CLASSIC. THE BARSTOOL CLASSIC, AND ANY PRODUCTS AND/OR SERVICES PROVIDED THEREWITH ARE PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND “AS AVAILABLE” BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, WARRANTIES OF TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OTHER THAN THOSE WARRANTIES WHICH ARE INCAPABLE OF EXCLUSION, RESTRICTION OR MODIFICATION UNDER THE LAWS APPLICABLE TO THIS AGREEMENT.
(B) NEITHER BARSTOOL SPORTS, ITS AFFILIATES OR PARENT COMPANIES NOR ANY OF THEIR RESPECTIVE EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, THIRD PARTY CONTENT PROVIDERS OR LICENSORS SHALL BE LIABLE REGARDLESS OF THE CAUSE OR DURATION, FOR ANY ERRORS, INACCURACIES, OMISSIONS, OR OTHER DEFECTS IN, OR UNTIMELINESS OR INAUTHENTICITY OF, THE INFORMATION RELATING TO THE BARSTOOL CLASSIC, OR FOR ANY CLAIMS OR LOSSES ARISING THEREFROM OR OCCASIONED THEREBY. IN NO EVENT WILL ANY OF THE FOREGOING PARTIES BE LIABLE TO YOU FOR ANY DAMAGES, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF THE REGISTRATION, ATTENDANCE, AND/OR PARTICIPATION IN THE BARSTOOL CLASSIC, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION ANY TRAVEL RELATED THERETO, OR AS A RESULT OF ANY PRIZE, OR ACCEPTANCE, POSSESSION, OR USE OF ANY PRIZE.
(C) PARTICIPANT AGREES THAT NEITHER BARSTOOL SPORTS, ITS AFFILIATES OR PARENT COMPANIES NOR ANY OF THEIR RESPECTIVE EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, SPONSORS, THIRD PARTY CONTENT PROVIDERS OR LICENSORS ARE LIABLE FOR THE DEFAMATORY, OFFENSIVE OR ILLEGAL CONDUCT OF OTHER PARTICIPANTS OR THIRD-PARTIES AND THAT THE RISK OF INJURY FROM THE FOREGOING RESTS ENTIRELY WITH PARTICIPANT.
These Terms and Conditions and any Event rules for The Barstool Classic established by constitute the entire agreement of the parties with respect to the subject matter hereof, and supersede all previous written or oral agreements between the parties with respect to such subject matter. This Agreement shall be construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New York, USA, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Participant and Barstool Sports agree to submit to the personal and exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located within the county of New York, City of New York, New York. No waiver by either party of any breach or default hereunder shall be deemed to be a waiver of any preceding or subsequent breach or default. The section headings used herein are for convenience only and shall not be given any legal import. In the event a court of competent jurisdiction finds that any provision of these Terms of Use is invalid, the court should give effect to the parties' intentions as reflected in the provision, and all other provisions of these Terms of Use shall remain in full force and effect. All rights not expressly granted to Participant herein are hereby reserved to Barstool Sports and its affiliates.
